Introduction to Medical Billing and Coding (Spring 2023 classes)

This is an introduction to medical coding, medical billing, and medical terminology for outpatient and physician coding. The focus of this class is learning the rules for the CPT, ICD-10-CM, and level II HCPCS coding systems and applying the rules to code patient services. This class will teach you to look up codes and navigate the code books apply the codes to medical billing.
Students, also, should take the Advanced Medical Billing and Coding Class, which will further prepare for the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam. Students must be at least 18 years of age and have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent GED.
